How to be an explorer of the world

I've always been an explorer, or at least, I've been one for as long as I can remember.  As a child I wondered along the edge of fields near my home gathering the names of birds, flowers and trees and making clay pots from the oozing ochre clay that lined the ditch at the far side of our nearest field.  In the summer I explored rock pools at Treaddur bay on Anglesey and collected shells from the beach.
I learnt how to take photographs and process black and white images and sometimes I drew the things around me.

Now I take photos (thousands of them if I'm honest), travel widely when I can, walk locally when the weather is good and continue to be surprised by how awesome the world can be.

Recently I've come across a book that has sparked my interest in exploring the world.  called, funnily enough, `How to be an explorer of the world', by Keri Smith.  There are enough ideas in here to keep me (and possibly you exploring for many years to come.  I highly recommend it and would like to thank Alan from the GA for recommending it.

I bought my copy from AMAZON.
